The camp is based in the picturesque village Jurilovca, located on Romanian side of the delta, a place where wild nature still thrives in its original, untouched form.
Children from Vylkove and the Borodino community in Ukraine, as well as Jurilovca and C.A. Rosetti in Romania, have joined forces in teams to explore, observe, create, and dream about the future of their shared delta. The camp’s main goal is to reconnect young people with nature by immersing them in the world of rewilding – a philosophy focused on restoring natural processes, habitats, and wildlife.
Right now, under the guidance of teachers and trainers from both countries, the children are learning about the Danube Delta’s nature, getting to know key species of local flora and fauna, and discovering why healthy wetlands and steppes are vital for both people and the planet. They’re also enjoying some rest and fun activities with scouts from Cercetaşii României - Aventura Piteşti.
