Summer at the Information and touristic centre of the reserve

A long-awaited summer has come. Information and touristic centre of the reserve is happy to receive its little visitors:  pupils of kindergarten “Rodnichok” of Vilkovo, students of schools of Kiliyskiy and Tatarbunarskiy districts. The young guests have a virtual tour to Danube delta to find out about its inhabitants and implement their artistic talents by painting the animals of the Danube biosphere reserve with coloured chalks on the ground.

Ukraine and Romania united forces to save the sturgeons

Sturgeons lived together with dinosaurs, 170 000 000 years ago, and could avoid the unhappy fate of their “fellows”. Unfortunately, the population of this fish is decreasing dramatically despite the fact that since 2000 the industrial haul of sturgeons is prohibited in Ukraine and all indigenous species of this rare fish “enrich” the Red book of Ukraine.

Elections of director of Danube biosphere reserve

According to the order of the Panel of National Academy of Science of Ukraine as of 14.03.2017 № 185, the elections of director of Danube biosphere reserve were held on 14.04.2017.

Alexander N. Voloshkevich, Ph.D. in Biology, Honoured nature conservationist of Ukraine, laureate of the State award of Ukraine in the field of science and technology, was unanimously elected the Director of the reserve at the secret voting.
