Two newborn calves at once have recently added to the water buffalo herd on Ermakov island in the Ukrainian part of the Danube delta! In the picture, they enjoy the last sunny days under the protection of a female buffalo, one of their mothers.
Being the huge grazers, water buffalos do natural grazing on the island, supporting the mosaic landscapes and biodiversity.
