On March 25, 2017, Ukraine
will join the international ecological initiative and hold a large-scale
republican social and ecological campaign Earth Hour, which aim is to attract
the attention to climate change problem.
International
campaign Earth Hour started in 2007; its founder is World Wildlife Fund (WWF).
This year, on Saturday, March 25 at 20.30 people around the world turn the light off for an hour, the Earth Hour, to show the necessity of united efforts for preservation of nature of our planet.

Besides the
symbolic turn off the light for 60 minutes, the campaign emphasizes the
necessity of daily actions of every citizen aimed at preservation of
environment, rational use of natural resources for solving the problem of
climate change and achievement of harmony with nature.
In addition, this year’s Earth Hour in Ukraine will emphasize the expansion of conservation territories, which is one of top priorities of Ministry of Natural Resources.
